The SVDGA hosts several goat related events throughout the year including goat education seminars and an ADGA sanctioned goat show. Please check our web site for specific dates and times to be announced.

ADGA Separately Sanctioned Senior Doe Show & Junior Doe Show
Youth Showmanship will start at 9:00 am
Animals are to be in place and checked in by 9:00 am

You may also send all information by e-mail to Eva Grochocki at evasgoats@yahoo.com. Info to be included is - Breed, Class, Animal’s full registered name, Registration Number, Date of Birth, and tattoos. Entry fee check must be dated the day the e-mail is sent and may be handed in the day of the show. Hard copy entries may be snail-mailed to Eva Grochocki, 66 Hurricaine Drive, orchester, NH 03266-6310. Check or money order is to be made payable to Southern Vermont Dairy Goat Association. Entries must be received by the Show Secretary by June 30, 2010. Late entries are $6.00 per animal. No day of Show Entries will be accepted.
Only same class substitutions - limit of 2 substitutions per class allowed. No refunds.
SVDGA Barbeque Sunday, July 25th Noon Meats and drinks will be supplied.
Past Events 2010:
Education Day April 24th went very well with many attending. Demonstration of tattooing, disbudding, castration and hoof trimming went well. Many went home with raffle items including 2 large wooden box hay feeders.
Past Events: 2009
The 2009 June Goat Show went very well with a showing of 253 goats. Many Nigerian Dwarf goats were shown.
Best Junior Doe in Show of 162 shown was an Alpine - Roeburn’s KVSS Mercy Owner Cathy Mabie of Lebanon, NH
Best Senior Doe in Show of172 shown was an Alpine - GCH Roeburn’s HLL Black Velvet Owned by Cathy Mabie of Lebanon, NH
There was good turnout for the August picnic. Lots of good conversations, and good times.
September meeting: The vote to change the By-Laws from ‘only one member in a family may become an officer’ to ‘two members in a family may become officers’ passed. Voted to have Elena Heiden become a Lifetime member of the club.
October meeting: Voting of trustees for the 2009-2010 year. Debra Menard-Cromack will continue as trustee for a term of 3 more years, and Richard Chalmers as trustee for a term of 3 years. All other officers will remain the same. Donation of 5 goats to Heifer Project at least one to remain in the U.S. Donations were made to The Fire Dept. and others.
