The SVDGA hosts several goat related events throughout the year including goat education seminars and an ADGA sanctioned goat show. Please check our web site for specific dates and times to be announced.
April 16, 2011 (Saturday) 11 am: First meeting of the year.
May 21, 2011 (Saturday) 10 am to 1pm: Education Day / Tailgate Sale. Workshop 10am to 1pm. Tailgate Sale at 1pm. Workshop: $15 Children under 12 free. More info…
June 25, 2011 (Saturday): SVDGA Goat Show. Volunteers needed. 2011 Show Book.
July 23-30, 2011: ADGA National Goat Show in Springfield, MA.
August 21, 2011 (Sunday) 11am: BBQ/Tailgate Sale/Board Meeting. Open to all members.
October 16, 2011 (Sunday) 11am: Annual meeting and election of officers.
November 13, 2011 (Sunday) 11am: Holiday dinner (last meeting of 2011).
Past Events 2010:
Education Day April 24th went very well with many attending. Demonstration of tattooing, disbudding, castration and hoof trimming. Many went home with raffle items including 2 large wooden box hay feeders.
The 2010 Goat Show held in July went very well with a showing of 260 goats. Many Nigerian Dwarf goats were shown.
Best Junior Doe in Show of 133 shown was a Nigerian - Rosasharn BB BLK Madonna Honey - Owned by Anne Petersen of Rehoboth, MA
Best Senior Doe in Show of127 shown was a Nigerian - Dragonfly G Dierdre Owned by Michael Covey of Milford, NH
There was good turnout for the August picnic. Lots of good conversations and good times.
October meeting: Voting of trustees for the 2010-2011 year. Terry Jo Terrell was voted in as President. AnnMarie Keenan was voted in as a trustee with all other officers remaining the same. Donations were made to 3 fire depts and rescue squads.
